Inez Ozella Kerley Wilson Wooten, 95, of Comanche went to be with her Lord Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, in a local nursing facility.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday Dec. 6, at the Chapel of Heartland Funeral Home in Comanche with the Rev. Jay Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche.

Ozella was born Dec. 23, 1913, in Comanche County, Texas, to Will and Dollie (Powell) Kerley. She was one of nine children, seven girls and two boys. She finished school early and began working. She had several jobs; two of them were working the local peanut plant and later caring for sick elderly persons. She met and was married to Wes V. Wilson in Van Dyke on Aug. 26, 1933. He passed away and Ozella later was married to John R Wooten at Willow Springs. Ozella’s greatest strength came from her faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord, which was nurtured though her membership in Willow Springs Primitive Baptist Church and being very active and faithful. She loved quilting, having made 79 quilts by hand, playing dominoes, fishing, showing old photos and sharing old stories.

Ozella is survived by sons Billy J. Wilson and wife Charlotte of Fort Worth, and Gene V. Wilson and wife Polly of Comanche; seven Wooten stepsons; brother, Claborn Kerley of Comanche; sisters, Marcelle Donaldson  and Jane Kirk, both of Comanche; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends, whom she loved all very much.

She was predeceased by husbands, Wes Wilson and John Wooten; parents, Will and Dollie Kerley; a brother; and four sisters.
