Mr. Senkirik passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Doyle Wayne Senkirik was born on Dec. 10, 1935 in Roscoe, Texas, one of two sons born to Joseph and Flossie Mims Senkirik. He was raised in Belton and attended school in the Houston area and served his country in the United States Army.

Doyle married the love of his life, Phyllis Cure, on May 12, 1955, in Akron, Colo. Together they made their home in San Saba, Comanche, and for the last 39 years, Brown County. He was an independent truck driver and never went anywhere without his dog, Ginger, “the faithful travel companion.” Doyle loved to fish, hunt, and enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR. Those who knew and loved him will never see another John Wayne movie without lovingly thinking of Doyle, because he was a true John Wayne fan.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Phyllis Senkirik of Brownwood; children, Rita Ann Reagan and husband Mike of Brownwood, Cindy Jo McCoy and husband Mike of Early, Bryan Keith Senkirik and wife Sheila of Early and Craig Steven Senkirik and wife Staci of Early; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Senkirik and wife Jerene of Lovington N.M.; a special niece, Brenda Neal of Brookesmith; his best friend, Mack Westerman; and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Flossie Senkirik; his son, Doyle Wayne Senkirik Jr.; an infant son; an infant daughter; and three sisters, Jody Dixon, Mary Emma Wallace and Juanita Dunn.
