COMANCHE — Funeral services for Doyle Henry Richey, 86, of Comanche will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Gerald Stockstill officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche County. Lunch will be held at noon at the Pearl Street Church of Christ. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He died Sunday, Dec. 12, at Mesa Springs Nursing Home in Abilene.
He was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Comanche, to Robert Richey and Hattie (Mayfield) Richey. He was married to Lorah Smith on Dec. 9, 1950, in Abilene. He was employed as an accountant at Higginbotham Bros. and Co. for 26 years. At the time of his retirement he was serving as vice president of finance, treasurer and assistant secretary.
Survivors include his sons, Ronald Richey and wife Rebecca of Denver, Colo., James Richey and wife Trish of Tool, and David Richey and wife Connie of Schwenksville, Pa.; daughter, Cyndy Fischer and husband Mike of Abilene; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy Richey of Granbury; and two sisters, Dorothy Williams of California and Edith Arrotta of California.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorah Richey; two brothers, Wilburn Richey and Bertis Richey; and two sisters, Odessa Burton and Arlene Mengle.
