COMANCHE — Grave-side service for Ray W. Minor Jr., 82, of Comanche will be at 2 p.m. today at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Harold Higginbotham officiating. Family visitation will be from noon until the service time today at Comanche Funeral Home.

He died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at Comanche County Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 28, 1935, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Ray William Minor Sr. and Gertrude M. (Bethge) Minor. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He had been DAV service officer in Seguin, and had previously been a San Antonio police officer. He was a heavy equipment operator for 30 years. He was a Baptist. He was married to Louise Foster on Nov. 26, 1965, in Seguin.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Minor of Comanche; three daughters, Trudy and husband Gilbert Perez of San Antonio, LaVerne Milburn of Mici, and Sammie Jo and husband Bobby Bagley of Comanche; a son, Melvin and wife Susan Foster of Buchanan; a brother, Bob Minor of New Braunfels; sisters, Marilyn Strickland and Doris Wolfshall, both of New Braunfels, and Sharon Smith of Boerne; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Minor and Carl Minor.
