Billy Ray Harlow, 71, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away peacefully Saturday morning Aug. 25, 2007, at his home.

Bill was born Sept. 26, 1935, in Brownwood, Texas, the only child of Raymond and Willie Harlow.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Maxine Harlow, of Bella Vista, Ark.; son, Allen Harlow and wife, Debbie, of The Colony, Texas; daughter, Kelley Harville and husband, Jeff, of Olathe, Kan., two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Bill began his telecommunications career in 1955 in Brownwood, Texas, at General Telephone Co. In 1969, the family moved to Kansas City, where he accepted a position at United Telephone Company and held many positions. He eventually retired from Sprint in 1991. Bill made many lifelong friends at Sprint, including Bob Baker of Bella Vista, Ark., and Bill McEldowney of Olathe, Kan.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the ICU at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark., for the excellent care and compassion he received. We would also like to thank the Circle of Life Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at the Highlands United Methodist Church, 371 Glasgow Road, Bella Vista, Ark., with the Rev. Rex Darling officiating. A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, Texas, under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Pallbearers will be Bob E. Baker, Bill McEldowney, Ben Kincaid, Ike Lynn, Bob Rolle and Dale Middleton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice building fund, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762, or to the Highlands United Methodist Church, 371 Glasgow Road, Bella Vista, AR 72715.
