††† COPPERAS COVE ó Funeral services for Larry Dow Sheppard, 64, of Copperas Cove are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, at Sheppard Chapel of Memories with Bro. Wayne Sage and Bro. Thomas Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakhill Cemetery in Lampasas, with Bro. Jack Riley officiating.

††† He died Friday, April 9, 2010.

††† He was born March 12, 1946, in San Saba, Texas to the union of B.D. Sheppard and Eddie Cleo Munsell Sheppard. He was married to Phyllis Marie Basham on Feb. 18, 1967, at St. Paul Methodist Church in Breckenridge, Texas. They had been married 43 years, one month, and 21 days. He was a licensed funeral director and emblamer and owned and operated several funeral home for 42 years in the West and Central Texas areas. He was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church, and had served as a deacon at First Baptist Church in San Saba. He was a member of the Lionís Club and a former Copperas Cove City Councilman.

††† Loving family surviving him is his wife, Phyllis B. Sheppard of Copperas Cove, Texas; son, Cody D. Sheppard and wife Jolene Alexander of Lometa, Texas and Bradley D. Sheppard and wife, Holly of Temple, Texas; two grandchildren, Kenneth Jacob Sheppard of San Saba and Kristen Deann Sheppard of San Saba; his beloved sheltie, Classie Clyde; brothers, Charles R. Sheppard and wife Mary of Crane, Texas and B.D. Sheppard Jr. and wife Carolyn of Abilene, Texas; nieces, Nikki Sheppard of Texas City, Texas, Jana Backfisch and husband Dennis of Abilene, Texas, Michele Basham Lambertson and husband Curt of Grapevine, Texas, and Stacy Basham Wagner and husband Bob of De Ridder, La.; nephew, John Mark Sheppard of Abilene, Texas; great-niece, Britni Watkins and husband Floyd of Clyde, Texas; great-nephews, Jack May of Grapevine, Texas and Zane Wagner of De Ridder, La.; and brother-in-law, Cody Phillip Basham and wife Zandra of Lone Tree, Colo.

††† He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and B.D. Sheppard and one niece Mitzi Lee Sheppard.

††† Pallbearers are Danny Wayne Shaw, Dwayne Shaw, Larry Shivener, Hal Harton, Robby Weatherby, and Jay Manning. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Harkey, Travis Herring, Mike Poe, Buster Wells, and Jack Dickison.
