Funeral services for Katherine Lee Abrams, age 63, of Brownwood, will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Don and Yvonne Sanderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Rocky Creek Cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Abrams died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.
Katherine was born on May 23, 1944, in Magnolia, Ark., to Roy Lee and Etta Lee Douglas. She married Charles Ray Abrams on June 9, 1986, in Weatherford. She had been a resident of Brownwood since 1994. Katherine worked as a private duty nurse and as a truck driver for Covenant Transport. She was a member of Lakeside Christian Center.
Katherine is survived by her husband, Charles Ray Abrams of Brownwood; three daughters, Lanita Gail Masters of Rayville, La., Ona Jean Hines of Manghan, La., and April Lynn Brewer of Fredericktown, Mo.; two sons, John David Wright of St. Joe, Texas, Phillip Allan Murray of St. Joe, Texas; and a step-son, Clark Abrams; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Arthur Douglas, McArthur Douglas and Kenneth Lee Douglas; and a sister, Nina Curlee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Hollis Edward Wright; two brothers, Charles Edward Payne and Gerald Wayne Payne; and her mama and daddy, Hollis Edward and Billie Jean Payne.
