Justin McKane Hill, age 23, of Blanket died suddenly Sunday morning near Blanket.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at the Brownwood Evangelism Center with Pastor Ken Colegrove officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Church Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born Feb. 4, 1987, in Comanche, the son of Sterling and Mary Reynolds Hill.
He graduated from Blanket High School and attended Howard Payne University. He played football and loved to rodeo, where he would often ride bulls. He had worked for Wright’s Tree Service in the Midland area for a while as a tree trimmer.
Justin was a person of few words but enjoyed writing poetry and music. His instrument of choice was the electric guitar, but would be found playing the harmonica at times. He loved fishing and camping on the Llano River.
His family thanks God for the short time they had with him and will forever miss his hugs, his smile, and the bluest eyes in Texas. He will forever remain in their hearts.

Justin is survived by his parents, Sterling and Mary Hill of Blanket; brother, Chance Hill and wife Kathy of Blanket; sister, Tasha Harris and husband Bobby of Brownwood; niece, Keyleigh Harris; nephews, Chico Harris and Sterling Lane Hill; grandparents, Danny and Tressa Finnigan of Brownwood and Joe and Betty Hill of Blanket; aunts and uncles, Steve and Rosana Reynolds of Abilene, Brian and Tammy Mackey of Brookesmith and Rhonda Hill of Brownwood; and several cousins also survive
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Leona Reynolds; and a nephew, Sterling James Harris.
Justin also leaves behind his cherished and devoted friend “Rambo” who he rescued as an abandoned pup.
A fund has been set up at American State Bank in Early for memorial donations in his memory.
