A service of remembrance for Lonnie Burton Pike will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

A military graveside service will follow at the Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early.

Lonnie was born Jan. 14, 1922, in Shamrock, Texas, to Alfred and Rena Burton Pike. He passed away Monday Oct. 15, 2007, at the age of 85. Lonnie was married to Lessie Vee Bruce on May 23, 1942, in Sayre, Okla. She passed away Nov. 23, 2000.

Mr. Pike attended high school in Lela, Texas. Lonnie served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from AMACO oil company as Plant Foreman in 1977. He and his wife moved from Andrews to Mullin, Texas, after retirement. They moved from Mullin to Brownwood in 1999. His favorite hobbies were fishing and gardening.

Mr. Pike is survived by two sons, Nick and wife Earlene Pike of Brownwood and Doug Pike of Voss, Texas; and one daughter, Gail and husband Jim Phillips of Early, Texas. Lonnie is also survived by four grandchildren, Nikki and husband Billy Thompson of Dallas, Texas, Robbie and wife Candace Hunter of Cleburne, Texas, McKinsey Lowrance of Kerrville, Texas, and Frank and wife Jessica Phillips of Saginaw, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and ten brothers and sisters.
