Howard Dewey Kesler, 87, went to be with his Lord on Oct. 5, 2008, in Oklahoma City, Okla. Howard was born Dec. 20, 1920, to James and Clara Kesler in Grosvenor, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army then went into civil service. He worked at Kelly Field Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, and then transferred to Abilene, Texas, to Dyess Air Force Base in aircraft maintenance. Howard enjoyed putting together and flying model airplanes and was an avid gardener. His favorite thing was to tell people how to come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord and to help them in their spiritual walk with Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Billie of the home; two daughters, Nancy Kay Day and husband Weldon of Wichita Falls, Texas; Darise Ann Hails and husband Rocky of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three grandchildren, Claire Ann Day Geppelt and husband Josh; Heather Ann Hails; Sean Charles Hails. He is preceded in death by parents, James Aurther Kesler and Clara Mae Kesler; son, James Bert Kesler. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at Blanket Cemetery, Blanket, Texas. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, Okla.
