Funeral services for Idarene Luker, 89, of Brownwood, will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2007, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Torian officiating. Burial will follow at Indian Creek Cemetery in Comanche County.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, in Brownwood.

She was born March 15, 1918, in Mills County to James Joseph and Onzolo Knight Shaver. On July 27, 1935, she married Beutel Luker in Comanche. A resident of Brownwood for more than 60 years, and member of Central United Methodist Church, Idarene was a housewife. She was involved with church bake sales, the Prayer Ring, and attended church faithfully. Her church, family and fellowship were very important to her. Idarene was a good cook and a lover of the grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Beutel Luker; daughter, Julia Yanch and husband Wayland of Brownwood; son, Floyd L. Luker and wife Peggy Jo of Early; grandchildren, Jack W. Stanke Jr. and wife Tammy, Britt Stanke and wife Marilyn, Jennifer Stanke Bannowsky and husband Fred, Heather Dubyak and husband Travis, and Skitter Lingle; great-grandchildren, Jonathon Stanke, Heather Parson and husband Thomas, Kristen Stanke, Shaily Stanke, Elias Stanke, Issiah Stanke, Thea Dubyak and Hadley Flynn Lingle; and great-great-grandchild, Skylar Stanke.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Billy Gail Luker; brothers, Otis, Abrey and Gaylon Shaver; sisters, Alfa Straley, Vera Gore and Ruby Couch; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church.
