COMANCHE - Funeral services for Gene Kight, 78, of Gustine will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Elmer Salazar officiating. A private burial service will follow. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Lunch will be at First Baptist Church of Gustine following the funeral services.
He died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas.
He was born on Feb. 15, 1930, in Andrews, to Frank Kight and Altus Adams. He was married to Beulah Jo Miller on June 22, 1947, in Baytown. She preceded him in death on April 21, 2002.
Survivors include his son, Freddie Wayne Kight and his wife Almerinda of Plano; daughter, Carla Diane Luker and her husband Alan of Gustine; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Garner and her husband Roy of West; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Rita Kay Ahearn; and one brother, Bennie Kight.
