BRADY — Funeral services for Suzanne R. Price, 65, of Brady will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels with the Rev. Gaylon Morris officiating. Burial will be in China Creek Cemetery in San Saba County.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She died Saturday, May 18, 2008, in San Angelo.
She was born Sept. 23, 1942, in San Saba County to Pete and Rosemary Terry Roberds. She was married to James E. Price on June 23, 1962, in Odessa. She had lived in the area since 1965. She worked for over 20 years with the Brady/McCulloch County Emergency Medical Services, Brady Volunteers Fire Department and the McCulloch County Sheriff’s Department. She was one of the three original Emergency Medical Technician crew members hired by the City of Brady in 1989, and was the first female firefighter in the district. She worked 13 years for the sheriff’s department as a deputy and jailer, was a state arson investigator and was appointed Brady’s fire marshal in 2000. She served on the Fireman and Fire Marshal’s Certification Board, and the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Advisory Board. She was a Methodist, and operated a dog grooming business for several years. She attended Southwest Texas State University.
Survivors include her sons, Matthew Price of Brady, Jason Price and wife Cynthia of Round Rock and Paul Price of Brownwood; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, James.
