GOLDTHWAITE - Funeral services for Cleo Bell Petty Fariss, 94, of Goldthwaite will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Church of Christ in Goldthwaite, with Dayton House and Jim Hays officiating. Burial will follow in Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home.
She died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at Goldthwaite Senior Care Center.
She was born Oct. 5, 1914, in Goldthwaite, to James Oscar Petty and Lois Minerva (Casbeer) Petty. She was married to Kenneth Stanley Fariss Jan. 20, 1936, in O’Donnell. They moved to Goldthwaite from Andrews in 1962. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a homemaker.
Survivors include her three sons, Darrell W. Fariss and Jan of Houston, Milton G. Fariss and Glenda of Brownfield, and Pat A. Fariss and Maco of Andrews; nine grandchildren; one sister, Earlene Petty Cook; 15 great-grandchildren; and numinous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lois Petty; her husband, Kenneth Fariss; one grandson, Rex Fariss; and four brothers, D.B. Petty, Burgess Petty, Glen Petty and Artry Petty.
