POTTSVILLE - Funeral services for Curtis Wiesepape, 81, of Pottsville were held Thursday, Oct. 30, in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville with Pastor Harold Meissner officiating. Burial followed in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Pottsville, under the direction of Riley Funeral Home in Hamilton.
He died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, in the Hamilton General Hospital.
He was born May 1, 1927, in Runnels County, to Mr. and Mrs. Henry R. and Elanora Eckerman Wiese-pape. He served in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the American Legion, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville. He was married to June Chapman on March 29, 1947, in Runnels County. He worked as a farmer and rancher. He retired from the John Deere dealership in Goldthwaite, where he had worked for several years.
Survivors include three children, Karran Sue Petett and her husband Tommy of Crowley, Sandra Jo Witte and her husband Marvin of Hamilton, and Ronald Leroy Wiesepape and his wife Marsha of Priddy; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Manske of Adkins; and special companion and friend, Bernice Wendeland of Pottsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June Chapman Wiesepape; and a brother, Leroy Wiesepape in 1945.
