Funeral services for Joe Potter, age 77, of Early, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmie Mize officiating. Interment will follow in the Staley Cemetery.
Mr. Potter passed from this life to be with his Lord on Friday, June 26, 2009, at his home.
Joe Abraham Potter was born on July 12, 1931, in Blanket to Claude and Virgie (Dunsworth) Potter. He served his in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Joe was married to Vivian Bullard at Spokane, Wash., in 1952. He worked for 3M in Brownwood for 33 years before his retirement.
Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years, Vivian Potter of Early; a son, Chris Potter and wife Kathy of Owens; a granddaughter, Kira Potter; two grandsons, Terry and Jay Weathermon; and two great-grandchildren, Abby and Joshua Weathermon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ray Potter; a brother, David Potter; a nephew, Larry Potter; and a sister, Nelda Wilhite.
