Graveside services for Dwayne Grady Blackmon, age 65, of Early, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at the Zephyr Cemetery with Brother Ray Box officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Saturday evening at Netherton Funeral Home. He passed away Thursday night, Sept. 25, 2008, at a local nursing home.

Dwayne was born Jan. 26, 1943 in Brady, the son of Grady and Geraldine (Stucke) Blackmon. He had been a resident of Brown County for the past 30 years. He was retired from the Brownwood Police Department, where he had worked as a dispatcher. He was a mason. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Blackmon, of Early; four daughters, Mikki Clark of Abilene, Krista Cahill of Gambrills, Maryland, Tammy Davis of Colorado and Diane Silvas of Minden, Louisiana; sister, Elaine Wilson of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Camri Clark, Morgan Cahill, Erin Cahill, Robert Davis, Nicole Duck, Jonathon Silvas, Christy Silvas and Christopher Silvas; and one great- grandchild, C. J. Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Geraldine Blackmon, son, Teddy Wayne Blackmon and grandchild, Kaden Clark.
