ODESSA — Graveside services for John M. Allison, 74, of Lake Ivie and formerly of Odessa, are set for 3 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2008, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Odessa.
He died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at his residence.
He was born Feb. 18, 1934, Lexington, Ky., the son Roy A. Allison Sr. and Virginia McKinney Allison. He grew up in in Louisville, Ky., and served in the United States Army. He was married to Beverly Bailey on De. 5, 2001, in Odessa. He worked for 40 years as a union iron worker, working in Colorado, Connecticut, California and Washington. He had lived in Loveland, Colo. for 20 years and moved to Lake Ivie last year from Odessa. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of Lifebridge Christian Church in Longmont, Colo.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Allison of Lake Ivie; three daughters, Karla Peters of Eureka, Mt., Lisa Blohm and husband, Kuss, of Port Townsend, Wa., Kelli Garcia and husband, Daniel, of Loveland, Colo.; one sister, June Hall of Flower Mound; one brother, Roy Allison and wife, Nancy, of Lexington, Ky; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two infant sons.
Arrangements were handled by Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman and Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Odessa.
