Funeral services for Denise Marie Banks, 59, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at New Testament Holiness Church in Bangs. Burial will follow in Bangs Cemetery.

She passed from this life on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008.

Denise Banks was born Dec. 27, 1948, in Pasadena, Calif., to William Banks and Barbara Collins Banks. She moved to Bangs in 1994 from Denver, Colo. She was a member of New Testament Holiness Church and had attended the Tabernacle of Faith in Brownwood.

Denise was a very hard worker and had earned a living working for Draco’s Janitorial and Car Detailing and most recently as a home health aide for Girling Home Health.

Her love for the Lord showed through her concern for others. She was very giving, and always had positive, uplifting things to say to those she was around. She was an extremely good cook and loved feeding family and friends. She was very involved with her grandchildren and attended many of their sports activities.

Denise is survived by her mother, Barbara Banks of Aurora, Colo.; three sons, John David Sterling of Denver, Colo., Bruce Sterling and wife Marcelina of Brownwood, and Chris Sterling and wife Tymashoney of Brownwood; five brothers, Larry Edson and wife Jerri of Pasadena, Calif., Phillip Banks of Pasadena, Calif., Stephen Banks and Charles Ray Banks both of Denver, and Maurice Davis and wife Josie of Ontario, Canada; three sisters, Cynthia Mickens of Denver, Colo., Rosemarie Chadwick of Denver, Colo., Kim Pulliman and husband Cory of Atlanta, Ga.; the father of her children, John Sterling and wife Vivian of Bangs, seven grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and twin sister.
