GOLDTHWAITE — Funeral services for Coy Ross Featherston, 87, of Goldthwaite will be held at 3 p.m. today at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel, with Glenn Murry and Drew Dinnel officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Mills County. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.
He died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 5, 1923, to James Walter Featherston and Mattie Rose Featherston in Goldthwaite. He worked as an upholster and was a member of the Cowboy Church. He was in the Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his daughters, Barbara Thomas of Arlington and Kimberly Veach and husband Chuck of Trenton, Mo.; son, Gordon Lee of Los Angeles, Calif.; three grandchildren; brother, Charles Kenneth Featherston of Arizona; sisters, Betty Fleming of Goldthwaite; Joan Simmons of Melissa, and Alma Carswell of Granbury; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his four brothers, Floyd, Pete, Walter Earl, and Alfred; sister, Tinnie Ilene; and one grandson.
