To the editor:
Thank you. As most of you know, my husband, B.J. Carnes, was killed in a plane crash on July 5, 2008. Because of the unbelievable, overwhelming support from all of our family and friends, I would like to thank each and every person and family for all the food, flowers, cards, donations, phone calls, hugs, kisses, comforting words, and prayers. My dad, who lives in Goldthwaite, told me a few days ago that all of these years he thought Brownwood was nothing special “just an OK place to live.” After he witnessed the way this community pulled together for me and Mackenzie in our saddened time, his feelings changed to “Wow, why would anyone want to live anywhere else?”
B.J. was a great husband to me, and father “Mack” and will always hold a special place in our hearts. I know he touched a lot of lives and will hold special places in your hearts as well.
A special thanks goes out to Davis-Morris Funeral Home and the Brownwood Fire Department for the “Presidential Quality” service that laid my husband to rest in the most respectful way ever possible.
I pray every one reading this has God in your life to guide you each and everyday. Without God, we would never be able to make it through this tragic event that has struck our lives God bless each and everyone of you!
