To the editor:

The cost of gasoline is skyrocketing. We have forecasts of much higher rates. When is the stopping point going to cause people to take the steps that are open to us to help our problem?

We have the oil available to alleviate the problem from the ANWAR in Alaska, public lands in the lower 48 states and offshore on both coasts of the U.S.

Only 10 years ago, the message was that it would take 10 years to get these areas into production. “HELLO!” Those 10 years are past, and we could not be producing.

The very fact that we will have prospects of producing our own oil supply will help current oil producers start cutting prices.

Strong pressure must be put on our “friends” who provide our current supply.

Everyone who reads this letter should contact their elected representative to push for development of our own oils.

If not now, WHEN?
