To the editor:

To the citizens of Brownwood: Hey folks, have you ever been driving on the streets of our fair city, and after dodging (or not) the latest pothole or utility cut, thought to yourself,”Gee, I can’t wait for that brand new park to be built”? I didn’t think so.

Come on y’all, I would like new recreational facilities as much as the next guy, but this is a no-brainer! The first thing that visitors to Brownwood usually notice are the streets.

Wouldn’t you like them to leave with a good first impression of us? Let’s use that $6 million where it will serve the majority of our citizens…. fix our aging streets and infrastructure! Let’s start now to make our streets a pleasure to drive on. Please, if you can spare the time, attend the public forum at 9:15 a.m. on Feb. 26 at city hall. Let your elected officials know what you think concerning this issue. If you cannot attend, call your city councilman, and let him know where you stand.
