To the editor:
You hear “Goodwill” and you think, “Time to clean out the closet.” Please do: Thousands of people across the United States and Canada, including some right here in Brownwood, are struggling to keep good jobs. Goodwill is there to help them. We do that by selling your donations of clothing and household goods in Goodwill stores and using the proceeds to fund our job training programs.
Thanks to your support, last year alone, about 950,000 people from across the country benefited from Goodwill’s career programs. Thanks to you, Goodwill places someone in a job every 57 seconds of every business day.
As we celebrate Goodwill Industries Week this May 6 to 12, we want to say thank you to the thousands of people in Brownwood and surrounding communities who clean out their closets for the benefit of Goodwill. Thank you to the businesses in our communities who hire Goodwill graduates. And thank you, plus the staff who dedicate themselves to helping people earn a paycheck and support themselves and their families.
