To the editor:
The Brownwood-Brown County Child Welfare Board would like to recognize and thank the following businesses for making our “Hope For The Children” Rainbow Room drive a great success.
Thank you to Heartland Mall for providing us a wonderful place to hold the event and all the merchants in the Mall that helped collect items. Special thanks to Scott’s Western Wear, Chick-fil-A, Hollywood Movie Theaters, Anna’s Attic, and Valley Designs for donating the prizes for the coloring contest winners. We thank KOXE for their media coverage of the event and broadcasting live during the day. For their very generous monetary donations, we thank Bob’s Fuels Inc., dba Sewalt Butane, UPS, their employees and families, the Vintage Rose Red Hat Society of Brownwood , many unnamed individuals. A special thank you goes to the Early Middle School Builders Club for over 130 pair of new children's shoes they collected and donated.
We also want to thank the second grade teachers of Brown County who encouraged their students to enter the coloring contest and the great job each student did.
As a community you really came through to show your support for the Rainbow Room. Through each of your generosity you truly will make a difference for our Brown County children who through no fault of their own have been victims of abuse and neglect. We remind you to prevent abuse or neglect of a child by calling the Department of Family and Protective Services Hotline at (800) 252-5400.
