To the editor:

As this summer wears on, our drought seems to get worse even though intermittent rains have helped. In the past civic and religious leaders resorted to courthouse meetings with payer groups asking God to send the precious needed rain.

James wrote: “You have not because you ask not.” Jas. 4:1. This is a very simple, non-costing way, for us to receive the rain that allows farmers and livestock to prosper. Therefore I implore that every church group and every any kind group that wants the blessings of God, begin to ask God for rain. It’s either do this and prosper or do without and put more families out of work, a prospect none of us desires.

He turns rivers into a desert, springs of water into thirsty ground, a fruitful land into a salty waste, because of the wickedness of its inhabitants.” Ps. 107:33-34.

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways , then I will hear them from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chr. 7:14.
