Brownwood officer Brian Tompkins was dispatched to Brownwood Middle School at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday on a report of a disruptive student. The student had yelled out obscenities in class, Tompkins was told. Tompkins cited the student for disorderly conduct.

Officer Robert Lee was dispatched to the area of Peach and Cleburne at 5:28 .m. Wednesday on a report of a "suspicious vehicle." Lee saw a stopped vehicle with its lights on, and the driver was unresponsive to Lee's commands. Lee arrested Justin Lopez, 23, of Brownwood, on a DWI charge after conducting a field sobriety test.

Officer Jesse Mares arrested Travis Anderson, 53, of Brownwood, on charges of DWI and assault on a public servant after a traffic stop at 11:04 p.m. Thursday in the area of Romines and Belle Plain.

Deputy Nathan Land arrested Jamie Sallee, 55, of Blanket, on a DWI charge after responding to a report of a vehicle accident at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday on County Road 339 near Early. Land saw that it was not an accident but a vehicle that was stuck on the side of the road with a blown-out tire. The driver said he had been sitting on the side of the road for an hour and a half waiting for someone to help him.

Sheriff's Sgt. Pete Bastardo arrested Darwin Modgling, 45, of Blanket, on charges of DWI and unlawfully carrying a weapon after checking on a vehicle on FM 1467 in Zephyr at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday.
