ALBANY — The Early Lady Horns began their stay at the Albany tournament with a pair of victories Thursday.
First, the Lady Horns downed tournament host Albany, 42-29, followed by a 38-31 victory over Seymour.
Against Albany, Early led 9-7 after one quarter, 21-13 at halftime and 30-20 through three periods.
Lauren Jesko paced the attack with 11 points trailed by eight from Makayla Deleon, seven each from Jayslin King and ShaunnaKay Connelly, four from Hunter Coffee, three from Hallie Tyler and two points from Kacee Gober.
In the win over Seymour, the Lady Horns trailed 11-9 after one quarter and 22-21 at halftime, but took a 30-26 advantage into the fourth period.
Jesko finished with 15 points, including a 6 for 6 effort at the free throw line in the fourth period, followed by eight points from Deleon, four from Connelly, three from Coffee and two points each from King, Gober, Tyler and Shelby Grooms.
The Lady Horns (7-6) resume tournament action at noon Friday against Winters.
