STEPHENVILLE — The Brownwood Lions and Lady Lions were both on the wrong end of lopsided District 4-4A soccer decisions against Stephenville Tuesday.

In the first game of a doubleheader, the Lady Lions were blanked by the Honeybees, 3-0. Brownwood defeated Stephenville in the first district meeting between the two teams on Feb. 17 at Gordon Wood Stadium.

In the nightcap, the Lions were the victim of a 7-1 thrashing by the Yellow Jackets. Conner Fitzgerald tallied Brownwood’s only goal.

“The girls game was very lackluster,” said head coach Keith Robinson. “It’s that up and down mentality and we were down and Stephenville was up. Stephenville dictated the entire game.

“The guys game was about the same. We came out very sluggish and slow and let Stephenville knock it around and it was just goal after goal after goal.”

The Lions (1-12-1, 1-5) and Lady Lions (8-7, 2-4) open the last of three rounds of district competition Friday at Abilene Wylie.
