The fourth-seeded Southeastern Oklahoma State women’s basketball team opens play in the Great American Conference Tournament against fifth-seeded East Central at noon today at the Bruin Fieldhouse in Bartlesville, Okla.
Southeastern (17-9, 15-7) enters the contest with a pair of second-team All-GAC selections in Olivia Potter and Katie Webb.
Webb led the team in scoring with 13.7 points per game and ranked ninth in the conference. She is also ranked sixth in the GAC in rebounding with 7.5 rebounds per game — one of just three conference players to rank in the top 10 in scoring and rebounding
Potter was second on the team at 12.8 points. She became the program’s 12th 1,000 point scorer and has 1,045 points heading into the GAC tournament, good for sixth on the all-time scoring list.
Southeastern picked up a 57-51 win against ECU (13-13, 12-10) in Bloomer Sullivan Arena, but was upended on the road by a 66-59 margin. East Central had its seven-game winning streak snapped by top-seeded Harding in the regular season finale.
