DENTON — Denton scored four times in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally past the Sherman Lady Bearcats, 14-12 in District 5-5A action on Tuesday night.


Sherman put the tying run on base with one out in the top of the seventh after a single by Kaylee Walker and a one-out walk by Kaitlyn Caver before the comeback ended there.


Jill Dixon was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, five RBI and two runs, Walker was 4-for-5 and a triple shy of the cycle with two RBI, Hailey Arndt was 2-for-4 and drove in three runs, Jayla Goodman was 2-for-4 and scored three times and Kaitlin Bang scored three times for Sherman (11-8, 1-1), which had a 9-2 lead going to the bottom of the third inning before Denton scored six times to get within a run.


The Lady Bearcats made six errors and Denton scored eight unearned runs.


District 9-3A


Pottsboro 9, Ponder 3


POTTSBORO — Hatty Shope was 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI as Pottsboro opened district play with a victory against Ponder on Tuesday night.


Haylee Hill was 2-for-3 with two RBI, Bre Hillin drove in two runs and scored, Madison Landers was 2-for-4 and scored and Payton Deaton doubled and scored for Pottsboro (8-6, 1-0).


Gunter 5, S&S 2


SADLER — Taylor Prosser was 2-for-3 with a triple and drove in three runs as Gunter opened district play with a victory against S&S on Tuesday night.


Abby Gilbreath was 2-for-2 with a triple, two walks and scored twice, Sarah Franze drove in two runs and scored, Alex Robinson was 2-for-4 and Elizabeth Schroeter doubled, scored and struck out 14 to earn the win for Gunter (3-9-2, 1-0).


Riley Marshall doubled and drove in two runs, Lauren Jaresh doubled, Jada Muller singled, walked twice and scored and Taylor Maxwell scored for S&S (5-6-1, 0-1).


District 12-2A


Collinsville 4, Lindsay 1


LINDSAY — Tayla Evans and Maggie Cavin each hit home runs as the Lady Pirates won their first district game of the season against Lindsay.


The Lady Pirates played great defense, holding the Lady Knights to only one run in the last inning.


Collinsville will host Valley View on Friday.

Bells 14, Blue Ridge 1 (5)


BELLS — C.J. Crane was 3-for-3 with a double, drove in two runs and scored twice as Bells run-ruled Blue Ridge in district action on Tuesday night.


Bella Smith was 2-for-3 with three RBI and scored twice, Kylie Stubbs was 2-for-2, walked twice and scored twice, Chesney Blount tripled and drove in two runs, Ashley Sloan had two RBI and Kinley Ives and Cheyenne Floyd each doubled, drove in a run and scored twice for Bells (12-1, 1-0).


Tom Bean 10, Trenton 0 (6)


TOM BEAN — Annie Bailey threw a one-hitter, striking out 14 and walking three as Tom Bean run-ruled Trenton in district action on Tuesday night.


Ellie Bailey was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI, Taylor Williams scored three times and Ashlie Cass was 3-for-3 with two RBI and three steals for Tom Bean (10-2, 2-0), which has the district bye on Friday before playing at Bells at 6;30 p.m. on Monday.

Gainesville 5, FW THESA 1


GAINESVILLE — Liz Green was 4-for-4 with a double, drove in a run and scored during Gainesville’s non-district win against Fort Worth THESA on Monday night.


Mary Gerken was 2-for-3 with two doubles, drove in a run and scored, Brook Kelling was 2-for-4 and scored, Hannah DeView singled, drove in a run and scored and Kylei Fritz walked twice and scored for Gainesville (5-7-1).
