The Lady Vaqueros golf team managed to beat the rain and most of the field in the San Diego Golf Classic Wednesday at the Alice Municipal Golf Course.

The San Diego girls placed third in the team standings. They were led by T.J. Gonzalez, who fired a round of 100. Odalis Varela shot a 107 and Valerie Garcia shot a round of 108. The team also included Meaghan Munoz and Samantha Hernandez.

The Agua Dulce girls team finished in the middle of the pack. Gretchen Bensen led the Longhorns with a round of 109. Aqua Dulce’s other girls included Kalista Riviera, Megan Breast, Savanna Castro and Gabby Gomez.

The Agua Dulce boys played third in the boys’ side of the tournament. They were led by Bo Surber, who shot a round of 82. The rest of the team included Austin Howard, Roman Felan, Randall Garza and Arnold Salinas.
