DENISON — Caden Earnheart was 2-for-2 with a double as the Yellow Jackets lost against McKinney, 7-0, in five innings and earned a split on the first day of the Grayson County Classic on Thursday night.


Christian Ruebeck added a single while Tre’ Lyday, Wilson Kirkbride, Nick Moreno and Dalton Souther walked for the Jackets (2-11), who play Fort Worth Christian tonight at 7 p.m. and Celina at 7 p.m. on Saturday as tourney play continues.


Denison started the day with a 6-0 victory in four innings against HSAA. Ruebeck allowed a hit and a walk to go with five strikeouts though three and a third innings and drove in a run. Carson Auten was 2-for-2, drove in a run and scored while Zach Sanders drove in a run and Kirkbride and Nick Sparks scored.


Whitewright 8, Melissa 4


DENISON — Seth Jackson was 3-for-4 with a double, drove in a run and scored twice as Whitewright defeated Melissa to open the Grayson County Classic at Denison on Thursday morning.


Payton Jones was 2-for-4 with two RBI and scored twice, Kendall Shaw was 2-for-4 and scored twice and Dylan Cordell doubled and scored twice for Whitewright (1-10-1), which plays McKinney’s JV today at 10 a.m. and Bridgeport at 12:15 p.m. at Denison.


Adam Davis was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI, Krisjon Segleski and Jake Burrow drove in runs and Dalton Vestal and Andrew Cole scored for Melissa (3-10), which faces Cedar Hill today at 12:15 p.m. and McKinney’s junior varsity at 2:30 p.m. at Veterans Field in Sherman.


Madill Tournament


Pottsboro 16, Tishomingo (Okla.) 0 (3)


Madill, Okla. — Hayden Kent was 2-for-2 with four RBI and three runs and Cooper Lyons did not allow a hit as Pottsboro beat Tishomingo in the Madill Tournament on Thursday.


Chandler Sims was 3-for-3, drove in two runs and scored, Hunter Watson was 2-for-2 with a double, three RBI and two runs, Jake Williams was 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs, Max Dodd drove in two runs and Myles Mitchusson scored three times for Pottsboro (8-2).


Whitesboro 12, Sulphur (Okla.) 2 (6)


MADILL, Okla. — Dalton Vanlandingham and Cayden Cobb combined on a one-hitter as Whitesboro beat Sulphur at the Madill Tournament on Thursday.


Kade Brewer was 3-for-3 with four RBI and scored, Weston Hickman singled and scored three times and Scout Sanders and Cody Robinson scored twice for Whitesboro (6-2).


Dickson (Okla.) 9, Van Alstyne 1


MADILL, Okla. — Chase Wilson was 2-for-4 and scoring during Van Alstyne’s loss against Dickson at the Madill Tournament on Thursday.


Luke Hundt drove in a run while Samuel Tormos, Ryan Cole and Zach Wright singled for Van Alstyne (5-2-3).


Lake Highlands Tournament


Pilot Point 2, North Dallas 2


LAKE HIGHLANDS — Jacob Pitts was 2-for-2 during Pilot Point’s tie against North Dallas at the Lake Highlands Tournament on Thursday.


Reagan Gochis doubled and scored, Gage Rider singled, drove in a run and scored and Hunter Kulezs drove in a run for the Bearcats (1-7-3)


Pilot Point started the day with a 14-1 loss in four innings against Kaufman. Conner Lynch singled and drove in a run, Pits and Bryson Griffin singled while Kulezs walked for Pilot Point.


Calera Tournament


Howe 9, Caney (Okla.) 0 (6)


CALERA, Okla. — Peyton Reagan and Garrett Grigg combined on a two-hit shutout as Howe beat Caney at the Calera Tournament on Thursday.


Reagan was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and scored, Matt Griffin was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and scored, Dyson Dillard and Bryce Krantz each finished 2-for-4 and drove in a run and Brennan Ross scored three times for Howe (8-3).


Anna-Leonard Tournament

ANNA — Koy Harris and Dillon Burr combined on a no-hitter with six strikeouts as Anna opened its tournament with a victory against Dodd City on Thursday.


Harris was 2-for-2 with a double and drove in two runs, Jacob Williams drove in three runs, Jeran Williams was 2-for-2 with a double, three RBI and two runs and Daniel Scott and Burr each scored twice for Anna (4-4-3).


Leonard 3, Sam Rayburn 3 (6)


LEONARD — Sam Clark was 2-for-3 with a double and drove in a run during Leonard’s tie with Sam Rayburn on Thursday.


Michael Shultze doubled, drove in run and scored, Dalton Tonubbee walked twice stole two bases and scored and Tanner Wigley singled, scored and stole two bases for Leonard (2-6-2).


Luke Titsworth doubled and drove in two runs while Dax Stewart was 3-for-3 and drove in a run for Sam Rayburn (5-3-1).

ANNA — Jacob Taylor was 2-for-3 with a double and scored during Bells’ loss against Aubrey at the Anna-Leonard Tournament on Thursday.


Hunter Hawthorne was 2-for-3 and scored while Tyler Hawthorne drove in a run for Bells (5-4-1).
