The Brookesmith Lady Mustangs won their second team track and field championship of the season on Friday in Zephyr, following up their March 3 victory at Santa Anna.
Brookesmith finished with 100 points in Zephyr, eight more than runner-up Cherokee’s tally of 92.
The Lady Mustangs earned nine medals as a team, including five gold.
Micah Drake won the 100 meters (12.65), 100-meter hurdles (17.25) and long jump (15-10), and was also part of the first-place 4x200 relay along with Katie Harris, Laramie Nelson and Sesily Morris (2:01.18).
Harris also brought home a gold medal in the 800 meters (2:59.24)
Finishing second were Jessie Harris in both the 100-meter hurdles (1:00.15) and pole vault (8-6).
Coming in third were Drake in the pole vault (6-6) and the 4x400 relay team of Jessie Harris, Katie Harris, Nelson and Morris (5:08.18).
Katie Harris also contributed a fourth-place effort in the pole vault (6-0).
Other team members include Chyna Allgood and Jolene Andrews.
