Two Brownwood Lady Lions and two Early Lady Horns earned all-state recognition from the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

Lady Lion sophomore Chyanne Ellett and senior Kayla McFarden landed on the TGCA 4A all-state softball team, while Lady Horns senior Parker Smith and sophomore Sydnee Shea received nods for the TGCA 3A all-state softball squad.

Ellett, the pitcher of the year in District 5-4A, posted an 18-7 record in the circle with a 1.38 ERA, 299 strikeouts and 76 walks in 162.2 innings pitched. At the plate, Ellett batted a team-best .406 with two home runs and 21 RBIs.

McFarden, a 5-4A second-team all-district selection, ranked second on the team with a .388 batting average, a pair of home runs, 21 RBIs and 28 runs scored.

Smith, the MVP of District 6-3A, had an on-base percentage of .700, a .507 batting average, five home runs, 25 RBIs, three doubles, a triple and 55 runs scored.

Shea, the offensive player of the year in 6-3A, recorded a .518 batting average with 11 home runs, 55 RBIs, 11 doubles, four triples and 42 runs scored.

Also this week, Early Lady Horn Makayla DeLeon was selected to participate in the TGCA All-Star Game in Austin July 11. DeLeon, who will play for the Class A-4A Blue team, owned an 18-5 record with a 1.80 ERA, 130 strikeouts and 30 walks over 125 innings. A first-team all-district choice, DeLeon also drove in 45 RBIs and homered twice with nine doubles and four triples.
