The high school and junior high brackets have been set for Saturday’s Brownwood Shootout youth basketball tournament, organized by Southwest Hoops based out of Lubbock.

Brownwood has a junior high boys team and a high school boys team competing, along with a high school girls squad. All of their games will be played at Brownwood High School. Elementary games will take place at the Brownwood Middle School gym.

In high school girls action, Brownwood will compete against Cen Tex Heat, Wildkats Elite and Wildkats Black. The championship game, pitting the top two finishers from the draw against each other, will be held at 8 p.m. at Warren Gym. Brownwood will face Cen Tex Heat at 10 a.m., Wildkats Black at 2 p.m. and Wildkats Elite at 4 p.m. — all at Warren Gym.

The high school boys draw features Brownwood, Titans, Austin Evolution and Force. Like the girls, the top two performing teams will meet again in the finals at 7 p.m. at Warren Gym. Brownwood opens against the Titans at 11 a.m., meets Austin Evolution at 3 p.m. and faces Force at 5 p.m. — all at Warren Gym.

Joining Brownwood in the junior high boys draw will be Warhorse and the Abilene Stars. Brownwood will face Warhorse at 11 a.m. and the Abilene Stars at 3 p.m. in the high school auxiliary gym. The second and third place teams will square off at 6 p.m. at Warren Gym for the right to face the top seed at 9 a.m. in the championship game, also at Warren Gym.

All games will feature two 20-minute halves with a running clock. Halftime will last two minutes and there will be four timeouts per team, per game, with an additional timeout awarded if the game goes into overtime.
