Following a full week off, thanks to Thursday's thunderstorms, the Brownwood High tennis team returned to action Saturday and dropped just their second match in seven outings, falling to Iowa Park, 11-8.

With the exception of the mixed doubles match, the Lady Lions produced all the points for Brownwood.

The Lady Lions won five of six singles contests with victories belonging to No. 1 Kendra Renfroe (6-3, 6-2 over Hall), No. 2 Piper Barberie (6-1, 6-1 over Casey), No. 3 Mckinzie Adkins (6-2, 6-1 over Teague), No. 4 Cameron Hall (6-3, 6-1 over Horton) and No. 5 Jordan Stavley (6-1, 6-2 over Sanders).

Collecting doubles victories were No. 1 Renfroe and Barberie (6-1, 6-1 over Hall and Teague) and No. 3 Stavley and Samantha Ethridge (6-1, 7-5 over Sanders and Tseng).

In mixed doubles action, Adkins and Jeremy Roberson knocked off Hambright and Witherspoon, 6-2, 6-2.

Brownwood will be back in action at 4 p.m. Tuesday against Fredericksburg.
