GRANBURY — Facing two more Class 6A programs and a private school, the Brownwood Lady Lions came up short in their bid to add to their season win total Friday at the Granbury tournament.
The Lady Lions lost to Fort Worth All Saints and Euless Trinity in three sets, while succumbing to Fort Worth Paschal in two.
In the 23-25, 25-21, 25-14 loss to All Saints, Torrey Miller led Brownwood with eight kills followed by Aleyia Cotton and Ashlyn Patteson with five each, Mikaela Smith with four, Tyra Cotton with three, and Cheyenne Stroope with two.
Hadley Monroe recorded 10 assists, Davalynn Monroe chipped in eight, and Patteson, Stroope and Tyra Cotton contributed one each.
Aleyia Cotton served three aces while Patteston and Tyra Cotton added one apiece.
Defensively, Miller collected nine digs trailed by Annie Gillispie with seven, Madi Gosch with five, Aleyia Cotton with four, Smith and Davalynn Monroe with three, and Patteson and Stroope with two each.
Smith tallied four blocks while Stroope, Miller, Aleyia Cotton and McKenzie Welker each notched one.
In the 25-23, 25-17 defeat at the hands of Paschal, Miller generated 13 kills trailed by Aleyia Cotton with five, Smith with three, and Gillispie, Stroope and Patteson with one apiece.
Hadley Monroe distributed 11 assists followed by Davalynn Monroe with eight, and Aleyia Cotton with one.
Aces were recorded by Miller and Patteson.
On the defensive end, Tyra Cotton posted six digs followed by Miller with five, Gosch, Gillispie, Patteson and Aleyia Cotton with three apiece, and Stroope, Smith, Davalynn Monroe and Tyra Cotton with one each.
Stroope finished with two blocks, and Miller added one.
Stats were not available from the Lady Lions' loss to Trinity.
The Lady Lions (5-9) resume tournament action at 9 a.m. Saturday against Arlington Bowie.
