The Brownwood High tennis team is back on a winning streak following Saturday’s 16-3 victory over Class 6A Killeen High.
The Lions and Lady Lions improved to 7-4 with the win, as Brownwood captured all seven doubles matches.
In girls action, victories belonged to No. 1 Piper Barberie and Kendra Renfroe (6-3, 6-3 over Kaitlyn Mencada and Katie Ramirez), No. 2 Cameron Hall and Mckinzie Adkins (6-1, 6-4 over Harmony Gamez and Kinere) and No. 3 Jordan Stavley and Hannah Netherland (6-0, 6-4 over Melani Rodriguez and Cannon).
On the boys side, doubles victories were claimed by No. 1 Jeremy Roberson and Michael Gomez (6-4, 6-2 over William Duran and Alex Ramos), No. 2 Gabe Hinojosa and Mo Goff (6-0, 6-2 over Kamil Kellum and Roberto Silva) and No. 3 Tanner Scull and James Bautista (6-0, 6-4 over Brandon Gill and Nayor).
Brownwood also captured the mixed doubles match as Jimmy Kniss and Lillian Jonescue knocked off Michelle Hernandez and Mikael Medina, 7-5, 6-4.
In singles action, the Lady Lions tacked on five more wins from No. 1 Renfroe (6-3, 6-3 over Gamez), No. 2 Barberie (6-1, 6-1 over Naudika Mack), No. 3 Adkins (6-0, 6-1 over Mencada), No. 4 Hall (6-3, 6-4 over Hernandez) and No. 5 Stavley (6-3, 6-4 over Ramirez).
The Lions added singles victories from No. 3 Bautista (6-2, 6-2 over Ramos), No. 4 Pablo Solis (6-4, 6-1 over Medina), No. 5 Kniss (6-1, 6-3 over Silva) and No. 6 Goff (6-0, 6-0 over Gill).
Brownwood’s next action is slated for 4 p.m. Thursday at Early.
