SEGUIN — The Howard Payne Lady Jackets suffered their third consecutive defeat, falling in straight sets to non-conference foe Texas Lutheran, 25-23, 25-18, 25-14 Tuesday night.

The Howard Payne offense was paced by Macy Maniscalo with seven kills followed by Kailey Doering with six, Zhartezia Bradley with five, Cheyanne Lovelady and McKenna Walker with three apiece, Jordan Rogers with two and Ashley Moore, Madeleine Kelly and Kylie Metcalf with one kill each.

Lovelady distributed 22 assists trailed by Walker with four and Rogers and Jazmine Bridges with one apiece.

The Lady Jackets did not record a service ace.

Defensively, Jordan Livingston’s 12 digs were a team-best trailed by Walker with nine, Moore with seven, Maniscalo with six, Lovelady with three, and Rogers, Bridges, Kelly and Bradley with one each.

Bradley and Livingston tallied three blocks apiece while Lovelady added two and Walker finished with one.

Texas Lutheran (6-5) received 11 kills and three blocks from Makenzie Griffin, 16 assists from Kionasina Nu’u, two aces and 11 digs from Hannah Mikelonis, and three blocks from Cailey Young.

The Lady Jackets (3-9, 1-2) return to conference action at the ASC Crossover Friday and Saturday in Longview. Howard Payne will face UT-Tyler at 10 a.m. Friday, Louisiana College at 5 p.m. Friday, and host LeTourneau at noon Saturday.
