LUBBOCK — The Brownwood Lions cross country team finished 12th at the Lubbock Invitational on Saturday, garnering 265 points at the site of the Region I-4A meet at Mae Simmons Park.

Andrews won the meet with 60 points followed by runner-up Burkburnett with 73 and third-place Big Spring — a District 5-4A rival of the Lions — with 152.

Joe Gosch was the top finisher for the Lions with a time of 18:36, which left him 42nd overall, trailed by Damian Cisneros (52nd, 18:51), Logan Dick (53rd, 18:52), Jason Sanchez (54th, 18:59), Roman McKibben (73rd, 19:44), Hunter Day (19:53) and Brayden Yazella (21:42).

The Lions and Lady Lions will be back in action Saturday at the Round Rock McNeil Invitational, held at Old Settlers Park — site of the UIL Class 4A state meet.
