RICHARDSON — The Howard Payne Lady Jackets were outshot 48-6 as the UT-Dallas Lady Comets picked up a 2-0 American Southwest Conference women’s soccer victory Saturday.

UT-Dallas (9-1, 5-0) scored 9:24 into the match as Stephanie White found the net with an assist from Michelle Lee. Just 2:42 later, Keely Fillman tallied the second and final goal with an assist by Jessica Rusk.

Of Howard Payne’s (4-3-1, 3-2) six shots, only one was on goal — by Jada Austin. Nicole Goodwin recorded 13 saves in goal.

The Lady Jackets will attempt to rebound at Mary Hardin-Baylor Thursday.

 

UT-Dallas 3, Yellow Jackets 0

 

RICHARDSON — The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets were dealt a second consecutive American Southwest Conference men’s soccer loss, 3-0 by the UT-Dallas Comets Saturday.

UT-Dallas (6-3, 3-1) took a 1-0 lead 14:22 into the contest as Alfredo Kaegi scored with an assist from Jess Ardila. Jackson Huckabay tacked on the second goal with 14:37 left in the opening half with the assist from Isaac Urcuyo.

The Comets added a third goal in the second half as Ardila scored unassisted 12:11 after intermission.

Howard Payne (4-4, 2-3) attempted just five shots with two on goal — by Tracer Moore and Joshua Rodriguez.

Defensively, Andrew Hackney recorded two saves in goal for HPU.

The Yellow Jackets will look to bounce back at Mary Hardin-Baylor Thursday.
