After a scoreless first half, the Howard Payne Lady Jackets tallied three second-half goals to rally past McMurry for a 3-1 victory Thursday a Citizens National Bank Field, which snapped a three-game American Southwest Conference slump.

McMurry (3-10, 1-7) took a 1-0 lead eight minutes into the second half as Cristen Lumbreras scored with an assist from Hannah Werner.

Howard Payne (5-5-1, 4-4) needed just 2:57 to respond as Kaitlyn Harrison knotted the score at 1 with an assist from Dayane Gutierrez.

With 30:12 left in the contest, the Lady Jackets took the lead, 2-1, as Morgan Patterson scored off an offensive rebound.

The Lady Jackets tacked on an insurance goal with 1:35 remaining as Jessica Swonger scored off the second assist by Gutierrez.

In goal, Nicole Goodwin tallied eight saves for the Lady Jackets as McMurry attempted 17 shots with nine on target. HPU finished with nine shots, including seven on goal.

Howard Payne hosts Hardin-Simmons at 1 p.m. Saturday.
