ABILENE — The Howard Payne Lady Jackets dropped two of three weekend volleyball matches at the second American Southwest Conference Crossover, hosted by McMurry.
The Lady Jackets notched a five-set victory over Belhaven Friday, but fell in straight sets to UT-Dallas in their opening match and in four sets to East Texas Baptist in Saturday’s finale.
In Friday’s 25-14, 22-25, 25-15, 12-25, 15-11 victory over Belhaven, Zhartezia Bradley recorded 20 kills for HPU followed by 10 each from Jordan Rogers and Kailey Doering, five apiece by Macy Maniscalo and Cheyanne Lovelady and four from McKenna Walker.
Lovelady distributed 39 assists trailed by Walker with three and Rogers, Maniscalo, Jazmine Bridges and Jordan Livingston with one apiece.
Lovelady also served three aces followed by Bridges with a pair and Walker, Livingston and Bradley with one apiece.
Defensively, Livingston logged 36 digs trailed by Walker with 17, Bridges with 11, Lovelady with eight, Bradley with six, Maniscalo with four and Doering with two.
At the net, Doering, Bradley and Lovelady collected one block apiece.
For Belhaven (11-10, 6-5), Blaykleigh Hardin finished with 11 kills and five blocks, Meghan Luker dished out 37 assists and three aces and Sydney McEachern tallied 23 digs.
In Friday’s 25-9, 25-13, 25-20 loss to UT-Dallas, Bradley amassed seven kills followed by four each from Rogers, Doering and Kylie Metcalf, two from Lovelady and one each from Maniscalo and Walker.
Lovelady tallied 18 assists and the lone ace, with Doering, Walker and Bridges adding one assist apiece.
Livingston compiled 16 digs trailed by seven from Maniscalo, six from Walker, five from Lovelady, four from Bridges, two each from Bradley and Ariana Rehm and one by Doering.
Doering, Rogers and Bradley picked up one block each.
For UT-Dallas (16-4, 10-2), Alana Geymer logged 10 kills and four blocks, Alex Nolan served five aces, Caroline Shecterle registered 17 assists and Kristyn Schott finished with 12 digs.
In Saturday’s 25-20, 25-21, 24-26, 25-21 setback to ETBU, Bradley amassed 17 kills followed by Rogers with nine, Maniscalo with seven, Metcalf with six, Doering with four, Lovelady with three and Walker with two.
Lovelady contributed 40 assists trailed by three from Walker, two from Ashley Moore and one each from Bridges and Doering.
Lovelady also served four aces while Bridges chipped in three.
Defensively, Livingston chalked up 35 digs followed by 17 each from Walker and Bridges, 14 from Maniscalo, six from Lovelady, four from Doering and one each from Moore and Jaci Frazier.
At the net, Bradley and Doering finished with four blocks each, Rogers added two and Manisaclo recorded one.
For ETBU (9-16, 5-7), Natalie Coburn and Paige Miller tallied 16 kills each, Merideth Augsburger notched 22 assists, Elyse Shaw served two aces, Karina Lay finished with 19 digs and Bailey Byas collected three blocks.
The Lady Jackets (8-15, 6-8) return to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday as they welcome McMurry.
