SAN ANTONIO — The Howard Payne Lady Jackets suffered their fourth consecutive defeat, falling in a three-set non-conference decision to NCAA Division II St. Mary’s Tuesday night.

The 25-12, 25-16, 25-16 defeat dropped Howard Payne’s overall record to 8-18 with three matches remaining at the Colorado College tournament this weekend. The Lady Jackets will face Cornell at 11 a.m. Friday, Johnson & Wales at 5 p.m. Friday and host Colorado College at 1 p.m. Saturday in Colorado Springs.

In Tuesday’s loss to St. Mary’s, the Lady Jackets received eight kills from Zhartezia Bradley followed by seven from Kailey Doering, four from Macy Maniscalo, three from Jordan Rogers, two each from Kylie Metcalf and Madeleine Kelly and one from Cheyanne Lovelady.

Lovelady’s 20 assists led the team trailed by four from McKenna Walker and two from Jordan Livingston.

Bradley served a pair of aces while Walker and Livingston each added one.

Defensively, Livingston notched nine digs trailed by eight from Jazmine Bridges, six from Ashley Moore, five from Walker, four from Bradley, two apiece from Lovelady and Metcalf and one each from Doering, Maniscalo and Kelly.

At the net, Bradley, Lovelady, Kelly and Rogers each collected one block.­

For St. Mary’s (14-9), Channing Hankins tallied 10 kills, Monica Ramon finished with two aces and 14 digs, Lindsey Kaufman dished out 17 assists and Jaycie Pluenneke recorded four blocks.
