Brownwood slips to 7-3, faces Lampasas Friday

HAMILTON — The Brownwood Lions’ excursion to the Hamilton tournament got off to a rocky start Thursday with a 68-54 loss to Class 3A Dublin.

The Lions, coming off a 65-44 road victory over Eastland on Tuesday, trailed Dublin 25-16 after one quarter, 47-26 at halftime and 66-47 through three periods.

A.J. McCarty again led the Lions with 15 points trailed by Sean Yoder and Zach Strong with 12 points apiece, Xavier Porter with seven, Blake Bronniman with six, and Gavon Clemons with two points.

Brownwood (7-3) resumes tournament action at 9 a.m. Friday against Lampasas.
