BRADY — The Early Lady Horns collected their first District 6-3A victory of the season, outlasting the Brady Bulldogs, 45-39, Tuesday night.

Coming off a 42-26 loss to Bangs in Friday’s district opener, the Lady Horns (11-14, 1-1) led 12-8 after one quarter, faced an 18-all tie at halftime and carried a 29-27 edge into the fourth period.

Ellie Ryan led Early with 18 points followed by 12 from MaKayla DeLeon and six from Kacee Gober. Gober also recorded a team-high seven rebounds followed by Ryan and DeLeon with six each and Trinity Tomlinson with five. DeLeon also dished out four assists.

The Lady Horns visit Coleman (1-1) at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Comanche 43, Lady Dragons 25

COMANCHE — The Bangs Lady Dragons were denied a 2-0 district start as the Comanche Maidens chalked up a 43-25 victory in 6-3A action Tuesday night.

Bangs (7-17, 1-1) jumped out to a quick 7-2 lead, but Comanche claimed a 22-11 edge at halftime, which continued to grow in the second half.

Kyra Smith scored 11 points for Bangs, while Taylor Malett added six.

The Lady Dragons host Dublin (0-2) at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
