BANGS — The Bangs Lady Dragons are in sole possession of second place in the District 6-3A girls basketball standings following Tuesday night’s 49-41 home victory over the Brady Lady Bulldogs.

Bangs (9-17, 3-1) converted 26 of 30 free throws, which proved to be the difference in the contest.

The Lady Dragons led 9-8 after the first quarter but stretched the lead to 32-25 through three frames.

Taylor Malett scored 17 points for Bangs followed by Trenedi Deal with 11 and Kyra Smith with seven points.

Bangs visits Coleman Friday night.

Lady Horns 52, Dublin 26

DUBLIN — The Early Lady Horns evened their District 6-3A girls basketball record at 2-2 with a 52-26 road victory over Dublin.

The Lady Horns (12-15, 2-2), who are tied with Coleman for third place in the district standings, led 13-8 after one quarter, 23-9 at halftime and 39-16 heading into the fourth period.

Ellie Ryan finished with 20 points and five rebounds, Kacee Gober added nine points and six rebounds, MaKayla DeLeon tallied eight points with four assists and Trinity Tomlinson contributed four points and six steals.

Early hosts district leader Comanche Friday night.

Dublin 80, Longhorns 39

DUBLIN — The Early Longhorns slipped to 1-1 in District 6-3A action and 9-15 overall with Tuesday’s 80-39 road loss to Dublin.

The Longhorns received 15 points from Brent Grooms, seven from Timmy Smithson, six from Taylor Hurt, five from Devyn Burns, four from Ty Schafer and two from John Griffin.
