Four members of the Howard Payne Lady Jackets basketball team on Monday were bestowed postseason accolades by the American Southwest Conference.

Valarie Matlock was selected to the All-Defensive Team and second-team All-West Division; Presley McKethan and Jada Evans received All-West Division honorable mention; and Chelsey Harris was tabbed ASC West Freshman of the Year and named to the All-Freshman Team.

Matlock led the league in steals (3.3), was fifth in minutes played (33.9) and finished 10th in the ASC in scoring (13.3 ppg). She earned ASC West Division Player of the Week honors once this season. Matlock posted season highs of 24 points versus McMurry, grabbed 10 rebounds versus UT-Tyler, dished out nine assists versus Ozarks and had five steals against Sul Ross.

McKethan finished second all-time at HPU in three-pointers made (150), and led the Lady Jackets in three-pointers made this season with 50. She also averaged 9.9 points per game, was second on the team in steals with 48 and second in assists with 75.

Evans was named ASC West Division Player of the Week once this season, was second on the team in scoring at 11.3 points per game and scored a season high 28 points versus Whitworth. She also posted eight rebounds versus Belhaven and seven steals versus Southwestern.

Harris averaged 6.1 points per game scoring a season high 20 points versus McMurry and grabbing a high of six rebounds versus Louisiana College.

Howard Payne finished second in the ASC West Division with a 15-11 overall record, and was eliminated from the ASC championship tournament in the first round.
