Fresh off the Region I-4A preview championship at Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock over the weekend, reigning Class 4A boys golf state champion Jaryn Pruitt fired a 7-under par 65 at the Brownwood Country Club Monday to earn the Bluebonnet Invitational individual title.
The Lions as a team also finished first overall, carding a 303 composite score to outdistance runner-up and District 5-4A rival Big Spring (317) and third-place Lampasas.
Along with Pruitt's 65, Caden Reagan and John Murray both posted rounds of 78, Ken Kallman fired an 82 and Hayden Tunnell finished with a 109.
Big Spring No. 2 (358) was fourth as team followed by Clyde (373), Lampasas No. 2 (415), Llano (462), Brownwood No. 2 (468) and Llano (482).
Comprising the Lions' second team were Ceasar Rodriguez (112), Ian Harris (217), Isaiah Stanke (107), John Schwab (130) and Tanner Watts (122).
Pruitt's round of 65 was eight shots better than runner-up Nolen Otto of Big Spring (73) and 12 strokes clear of third-place Logan Sneed (77) of Lampasas.
